Pangolin Diamonds, which holds 11 prospecting licences in Botswana, has identified over 80 priority kimberlite drill-ready targets in the country.

It said in a statement that of these, over 50 were situated in the Tsabong North Project.

Other project areas included Jwaneng South, Malatswae, and Mmadinare.

Pangolin said it had also raised $2.171 million for exploration activities.

The funds had already been allocated to the diamond drilling programme, detailed ground magnetics and gravity surveys, as well as detailed soil sampling of the priority kimberlite targets.

It said diamond drilling had commenced at the Tsabong North Project.

Tsabong North Project was comprised of anomalous concentrations of kimberlite indicators and had large geo-botanical features.

Soil sampling at the project had produced highly anomalous concentrations of kimberlite indicators within the project area.

“Microprobe analyses of indicator minerals have confirmed the presence of G10 garnets, indicating the presence of a mantle conducive to the crystallization of diamonds,” it said.
